In this episode you learn the 3 crucial things you need to fix in your bedroom so that it does not destroy but support your deep sleep.

SUMMARY

Most people only care about how their bedroom looks, but way more important is: Does it support your Deep Sleep? And before we go into the tactics, how we can do this, let me share you probably the biggest mistake that most people make: When they evaluate their bedroom, they only think about whether they can fall asleep and stay asleep or not. But if you follow my podcast, you know better. You know that it’s way more crucial into what kind of sleep stages you are, and not whether you only sleep or not. And only because a leaky faucet, for example, does not wake you up because you get used to it over the years and maybe decades, does not mean that it doesn’t hurt your sleep. Because with a sound like this, you’re probably impossible to really fall into deep sleep. Here are three things you need to fix so your bedroom does not destroy or hurt but support your deep sleep. 1. calm No noise from the street outside, from your neighbors or whatever. Absolutely calm. 2. dark, really pitch black. Every single ray of sunlight will tell your body that the sun rises, and it will keep you from staying into the deepest sleep stage. 3. cold Ideally 18 degrees Celsius, because that’s the temperature that we need to really fall into deep sleep. And if one of these criteria does not apply to your bedroom or your hotel room, if you travel a lot, then you know that you sacrifice your valuable deep sleep and you have really potential to optimize your recovery.
